It uses a unique data structure called a BlockDAG, allowing many blocks to be created in parallel instead of forcing them to line up one-by-one. Its consensus mechanism, GHOSTDAG, orders these parallel blocks rather than discarding them, letting Kaspa maintain the security model of Proof of Work while achieving much faster throughput. The network is mined using a purpose-designed algorithm called kHeavyHash, and it follows a smooth, monthly deflationary emission schedule that gradually reduces new supply over time instead of using the four-year “halving” cycles seen in Bitcoin.
